This week has been insane, I've been on the go nonstop! Yoga, painting, moving furniture, cleaning, I love the stuff I get to do during summer break. Considering it's my last summer before I have responsibilities, a job, worries about moving/college/money, I want to spend it in my ideal way aka inside, rarely venturing outside of the house.

Scenes from the Suburbs premieres tomorrow! I'm so excited considering I've been waiting for this for so long. I can't wait until my dvd comes in August.

One thing I found time for this week was obsessing over Ben Christensen's photography. His photographs are excellent and because most are of couples they're heartwarming and add a smile to my face.

I've also become very obsessed with Orla Keily clothing. I'm a dress girl, I'm very dress obsessed but barely have any due to never finding exactly what I like. I'm very very picky when it comes to dresses but I seem to love every single one of these! Of course they're very expensive so instead of even trying to save up $300 for one dress I'm thinking about making my own. Maybe I'll start this week. Maybe.

This one would definitely be my first one to try. I'm so obsessed with it!

now to conclude this image heavy blog with a video that isn't arcade fire.

San Diego: a whale's vagina

I went to see Panic! at the Disco at the San Diego house of Blues yesterday, although I would've much rather have went to the LA one (which sold out before I could get my ticket). I was really fun, surprisingly. Despite all their obnoxious young fans they actually have a very older audience much to my liking. I got much closer than I ever expected I would at one of their shows, especially considering I started off in the back of the back. There was about 7 people in front of me from Ian, which was amazing. I had such a blast, it was the best show I've ever seen of them. It was definitely worth the 2 hour drive back home and the soreness I'm feeling now.

Now for some close up shots because they come out better on my camera than ones taken from further away.

The Maine, Augustana, and Austin Gibbs at the House of Blues Anaheim 6/16/11

So Steven and I went to see the above bands on Thursday. Since I had my disposable camera from the last day of school I figured I would waste the remaining pictures at the show. They're not good, not even great, but they're nice little memories to have in my hands instead of in my laptop.

The Summer Set

Probably my favorite band to talk to (next to VerseEmerge, who I'll get to later) They're very down to earth nice people. I've witnessed Stephen do some very odd things when he was drunk but he's also very funny and very nice. John is sweet, he's never a bad time. And Josh is just plain weird. Brian and Jess are, well, normal. I've never really talked with Jess a lot before but one day hopefully.

Example 1 why I love them so much: they make every show feel it's being preformed for you and you only.
This isn't a very good example due to the audience vocals being so loud but I love the sound quality of the violin.

Example 2 is John Gomez's vocals on this song.

Example 3 is well, just their energy. They really are an all around great band.

And my last reason why I love them so much, is...
Josh really likes to be in his tighty-whities

Lette

Took a trip out to Beverly Hills yesterday to get some Macarons for breakfast. Lette has some of the best that I've ever had. I definitely recommend them.

Here have some sucky iPhone photos.

The bonnaroo live webcast was AMAZING last night. The sound guy sucked, cutting off vocals during Ready To Start and Haiti and not to mention not all instruments were at proper volume. But it still made my night. I was going to post "Sprawl II" because it was no doubt Regine's best performance of it, I just can't resist posting "Wake Up" because of Win's little speech in the beginning.

Yesterday was a busy one. I went to my sister's graduation and caught up with friends to see Super 8. First off the graduation was chaotic and we were stuck with Audrey and Adam who are both just equally annoying, and it was super cold which didn't help considering I'm sick.

Then around 10 I went to meet up with Steven, Bree, and Aaron to see Super 8. For not being an indie movie it was pretty good. I was definitely out of my comfort zone but nonetheless I had a fun time.

Tomorrow Bonnaroo is showing Mumford & Sons and Arcade Fire, that's all I'm looking forward to right now aside from finishing my story I've been writing since February. I'm so close to being done, I can't wait.

and of course what's a blog without ending it with a video. Enjoy.

disclaimer

I was on my mom's pc instead of my mac and this layout looks too light. Idk if it's her computer or all pc's but I'm not liking how it's looking. It looks so vibrant on safari, so I'm just gonna say that this blog probably looks better on safari instead of internet explorer. idk about firefox or chrome though.

I am now technically a senior

And I got straight A's too! Steven and I spent the day together as always. We walked around after school eating sunflower seeds, watched TV at my house, and then went to Victoria Gardens where we, of course, went straight to wherever we could find books.

As of right now I'm reading this book

And since I'm almost finished with it I'm going to start reading this soon

I'm really nervous about being a senior now. Junior year was so much fun and I hope Senior year is even better. In the next year I got to apply to my two colleges, apply for financial aid, get as many scholarships as possible, continue getting As, get student loans, get my license, and save up as much money as I can before I leave. There's so much pressure on me this year it isn't going to be easy.

At least I'm seeing these boys in eight days.

Creme de la Crepe

Steven, my parents, and I ended up going to downtown Pasadena last night. We found the cutest little french bistro called "Creme de la Crepe" and their food was so good! I wanted to take so many pictures there but Steven, thinking it was embarrassing, kept me from doing so. So I only got a few. This picture is from google, but you get the idea of what it looks like.

I got this cute little pink lemonade that is from France. It's so cute I kept the bottle! Right where I was sitting there was a long fable written in french called "le corbeau et le renard". That place was so magical, I really wish I could've lived there.

I got this amazingly sweet strawberry, banana, and nutella crepe.

Earlier in that day we got out at 11:50 from school and after hanging out talking to Vanessa for about 20 minutes, Steven and I went to Subway, saw a few familiar faces on the way there then ate. After that we headed to the public library to read a few books. I've had a book from the library for over a year so although I couldn't check anything out I got to read The Waste Land while in there. Of course, I only read it because of the references Arcade Fire makes in "Speaking in Tongues". It was a good poem though. Confusing. I wish I could've spent more time analyzing it, but instead we headed off to Steven's house for an hour before going to Pasadena.

Today I got my new Chloe glasses that I've been waiting for for 2 weeks. It's nice having a pair that I'm not ashamed to wear to the outside world (my chanel ones had thick black lenses, they were so emo looking).
I really love instagram for iphone.

SNL is re-airing Arcade Fire's second appearance tonight. Sure, it's not Win smashing his guitar at the end of intervention but we still get to see the cheek kiss. So cute. I'm excited.

OH! And I also saw a Mercedes that was the same model as the one on The Suburbs cover. Oh boy was it beautiful we were crossing the street and I screamed. I'm pretty sure the girl who was driving saw me. I wanted to steal it from her.

Two more school days of being a junior. Two. More.

I'm seeing these guys in a few weeks in San Diego. Last time I saw them I was sitting in seats in an arena so I'm excited to be seeing them in a House of Blues.

Oh Canada

I'm thinking about applying to Concordia University in Montreal. I know no french at all but I think that's the fun part about moving there. The only real thing that sucks about Canada is that not a lot of my favorite bands play shows there. Maybe I'll apply just for the hell of it. Sorry ASU.

here's one big reason why I'm so in love with Montreal.
